Candlesticks
Shabbat candles are a widely recognized aspect of Jewish tradition. The practice is rabbinically mandated, and so is considered by Jews to be a religious law. At least two candles are to be lit 18 minutes before Shabbat begins, at sundown. Traditionally this practice is performed by the women of a household, but if no women are present it is done by a man.
The blessing over the candles goes as follows:
Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha‑olam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu l'hadlik ner shel Shabbat.
"Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to light the Shabbat candle[s]."
