Shabbat

The Sabbath table is set with at least two candles, representing the dual commandments to remember

 and observe the Sabbath. A Kiddush cup of wine is used to sanctify the Sabbath with the Kiddush

 blessing. Two loaves of Challah, representing the dual portion of manna that God provided for the Israelites

 in preparation for Shabbat in the desert, are used to make the Hometzei blessing. The challah loaves should

 be whole and should be covered while reciting the Kiddush blessing.
