The Passover Seder Plate is a special platter that holds six different symbolic foods which are consumed by Jews all over the world every Passover. Each of these six food items is meant to remind the Jewish people of the hardships their ancestors had experience in Egypt. These symbolic foods evoke an appropriate sense of bitterness and sorrow, and create a stark contrast to the sweetness of independence and liberty in the land of Israel.
